Both Comenity Bank and Comenity Capital Bank are parts of Alliance Data Systems Corporation, a big name in the industry of private label credit cards. It was in 1996 when Alliance Data came into existence as a result of the merger of J.C. Penney’s and The Limited’s credit card processing units.
The credit card division is referred to as Alliance Data Card Services, which maintains two banks to manage the funding and receivables for its clients’ credit programs. These two banks were earlier referred to as World Financial Network National Bank (WFNNB) and World Financial Capital Bank (WFCB), and now as Comenity Bank and Comenity Capital Bank, respectively.
These two banks under the name ‘Comenity’, today, holds a portfolio of over 125 credit programs in the United States. The cards offered by some of the biggest retailers in the nation are being serviced by Comenity’s banks. These retailers may include the names of Bon Ton, Dressbarn, Eddie Bauer, Gordman’s, Herbergers, Victoria’s Secret, and Woman Within.
Both of these banks are headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, but the customer service phone numbers and contact details may vary depending on the credit card programs they manage. Consumers have to interact with the issuer of a store credit card for application as well as for making payments. Comenity has also put in place separate online account centers for the different store credit cards it issues.
